Being Lazy is Sometimes a Good Thing!

Our Sunday plans somehow ended up not happening. Well, actually that "somehow" was because Hubbs woke up with terrible back pain and I insisted he put ice on it and take it easy. Poor guy. So in between doing mountains of laundry (Fakking Febreze - some dogs and Febreze DO NOT go well together, beware!!) all day, watching football games and squeezing in a movie when he was napping I had forgot about dinner.

Around 7ish, I made a quick run up to the grocery story and picked out items for an extremely easy and tasty dinner - and I'm talking, ya just can't get lazier easier than this!

Sunday dinner!

Yeppers.. we dined on a pound of good sized cocktail shrimp, 3 hunks of cheese (port-wine, sharp cheddar and a garlic-herb infused swiss), those cute lil beef sausage bites, some mozzarella & tomatoes, picante peppers, crackers and italian marinated mushrooms. WOO! I was exhausted by the time I plated and presented his dinner to him. teeee!!

And lemme tell ya.. a quick prepared foods dinner like this is sometimes AWESOME! The different tastes and textures was really quite nice. It was filling and there was only ONE dish to wash - party on!

That is one of my favourite types of dinners too! A trip to the cheese and deli counter then off to the olive cart and cracker aisle. Like you, it always exhausts me to "fix" this meal.

All of us need a day off one day or another :), and with a dinner that looks like that, you won't find me complaining.

Mmmm, that my favorite sort of dinner too. Have you ever tried those eggplant rolls with the cheese and tomato in the middle?

I love this easy-breezy dinner! The shrimps are awesome! I hate (even only slightly) not-so-fresh seafood, but yours look like just jump out from ocean, hehee... *holding a glass of wine* cheers!

Hey you are one of the most prolific bloggers out there- I can't consider you lazy. And your dinner...the two chefs atop your cheese knives they must have been working overtime. Love the port wine cheese.

The only way to make a meal like this any better is to eat it in bed (sharing a bottle of nice wine) and then maybe follow it with a good soak in the tub and then sweet, sweet slumber! Good times.

Mary - I know! hahaa! It takes a lot out of you deciding what to fill your lil container up with at the olive cart!

Monisha - I couldn't agree more =)

Sara - No.. tell me more, they sound good! Do you get them in the deli or at the olive cart?

Gattina - These shrimp were excellent. My grocery store is FINALLY carrying Louisiana Gulf shrimp instead of the kind that's raised on a farm in Thailand. The taste is so much better and they are so much more fresh :D

Callipygia - hehee! Oh yeah, they were busy =)

Kev - You are absolutely right - that does sound like the perfect evening to go along with this dinner.

Dang - there's nothing wrong with piecemeal deli dinners, surprisingly a lot of different textures and flavours to sate both tastebuds and belly!

Party on is right. The perfect meal - not lazy, this is ease!
